My own fight with theocracy in America has largely been in the arena of the "culture wars", fighting for legal rights for gay and transgender individuals for the past 18 years. I used to be heavily involved in the dark_christian LiveJournal community, then in 2008 I created the Outing Dominionism group on Newsvine, a site later bought by MSNBC. I moderated that group until 2013, when changes to the site rendered it all but unusable for its original purpose. Then, more than a little burnt out and thinking that with Obama in office and same-sex marriage finally legalized in 2015, we had broken the back of Dominionism in American politics, I stepped away from the fight. It wasn't until the violence in Charlottesville this year that I realized we needed to keep fighting Dominionism and its white Christian nationalist vision of America. With Newsvine slated to shut down in October, I created a new version of the Outing Dominionism group on Reddit and began to gather information and current resources, which I've been loosely organizing into the start of a wiki for the subreddit, though there's still room for a lot of work. I'm very glad to find this group and be able to add it to that list of resources, and I'm looking forward to learning more here and sharing what information I can.
